Scheduling an Appointment
If you have general questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please call us at (512) 858-2507. During the intake call we will work with you to establish areas of need and determine service options for your child.
 
Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech/language therapy may be covered by your insurance plan. We are in network with many insurance companies including the following:

Family Connections Center desires to provide you with the best possible care for your child. We will assist you in receiving the maximum allowable benefits from your insurance policy. We will verify your insurance coverage. Verification is never a guarantee of reimbursement, but a quote of benefits associated with your insurance plan. All insurance payments are subject to medical necessity and eligibility at the time of service. Please bring your insurance card to your first appointment.

The Evaluation
Plans for therapeutic treatment and educational services are based on individualized evaluations. The evaluation process consists of gathering information from parents, teachers, and/or other persons knowledgeable of your child's skills in the targeted areas; direct assessment with your child; and parent consultation regarding evaluation results to determine the course of intervention.

Evaluations will last approximately 1 1/2 hours depending on the scope of testing and your child's attention span and ability to participate.  You may be asked to accompany your child into the therapy area to assist your child with the transition and provide information about your concerns to the therapist. You and the therapist will determine if there is a need for you to remain with your child for the duration of the evaluation.

The therapist will briefly discuss findings with you following the evaluation. A written report will be produced that specifically outlines results of the evaluation and recommendations for treatment. The therapist will schedule a consultation with you to more thoroughly explain results and recommendations upon completion of the evaluation report. The therapists will then work with you to design a therapy plan that best meets the needs of your child and family. You will receive a copy of the written report.

If your child has been evaluated by another facility, we may be able to accept the evaluation if it was completed within the last three months and includes a current plan of care.  When you call to schedule an appointment, please make office staff aware if your child has had a recent evaluation.
